The LG Optimus G Pro, a spruced up variant of the original Optimus G, was initially announced with an upgraded 5-inch 1920×1080 Full HD screen and 3,000mAh battery for NTT Docomo in Japan. Well, according to the latest leak, which includes photo evidence, another model of the Optimus G Pro is just around the corner for Korea and possibly other regions.
The newer configuration actually rocks a significantly larger 5.5-inch 1080p FHD AH-IPS LCD display and increased battery capacity to 3,140mAh. Like its Japanese brethren, the super-sized Optimus G Pro features a Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.7GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card slot, 13 megapixel rear camera, 2.1MP front-facing camera, LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, WiFi direct (Miracast), and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
The enhanced LG Optimus G Pro will easily fall in line with the new crop of high-end smartphones for 2013, which includes or will include handsets like the Sony Xperia Z, Samsung Galaxy S IV and HTC M7. Could this version of the Optimus G Pro be part of LG’s new series of smartphones headed for a MWC 2013 unveiling later this month? Could it be announced as the Optimus G2? We’ll find out soon enough!
