At CES 2013, we had a chance to witness an Nvidia Tegra 4 powered Android development tablet outputting a 4K video sample to a $20,000 84-inch LG Smart TV (84LM9600) with ULTRA HD 4K resolution (3840×2160). The Jelly Bean tablet played the “After Earth” movie trailer flawlessly and the 4K video looked brilliant on the massive LED TV, demonstrating the true power of the new Tegra 4 quad-core CPU. More Tegra 4 video coverage can be found on our 2013 CES Playlist.

For those who aren’t familiar with 4K resolution, here’s LG’s explanation:
Ultra HD, the future of high-definition TV resolution destined for your living room. The new level of Ultra HD (3840 X 2160) picture quality makes Full HD (1920 X 1080) look like standard definition. Boasting a pixel resolution 4X higher than Full HD, its detail is so vivid and crisp, even when viewed from close distances. From its magnificent screen comes superb picture quality, some say even better than the cinema. With picture quality this clear, you’ll feel like you’re living, not watching, your favorite shows. Prepare yourself for the ultimate home entertainment experience with the LG 84 inch class Ultra High Definition TV.
